Is there a story behind the beer you drink or is just that it tastes better

some people drink a certain beer because they really find that it's the best tasting beer on the market, while others drink what their friends or spouse drinks and see no difference, no matter what beer they drink.. when i first started drinking beer when i was in my teens, i drank what my parents had at home.

honestly, i used to drink labatts but a friend initiated me to budlight, and i really love that beer now.

Beer pays my bills. I am of the opinion though that ALL "clear beer" aka Coors, Bud, Miller, PBR, etc taste pretty much the same. (I use the word "taste" loosely). I will drink all of the aforementioned beer but prefer something a little more robust like a nice IPA or stout. Terminal Gravity IPA is my all time favorite.

Who here gives to the homeless?

i'm interested in how many here give to the homeless, or any kind of charity, since that was not a part of the witness experience.

i have to admit that my heart is hard ...

I used to feel a lot more compassion for these folks than I do now. I worked for a few years at a downtown Portland nightclub. The block we were on had about a dozen resident homeless folks. In the front of our building were a couple of alcoves that the homeless folks would use to get out of the frequent Portland rainstorms. They would also use them as toilets. By the fifth time I had to clean up some homeless guy's poop on the sidewalk I had about had it with these people. I would watch these guys take money from all the people that would walk by and then they would go down the street and buy crack or smack with it. I was always telling these guys not to smoke crack or shoot up on our property. They would even come into the bar and beg from customers at their tables. They had become more of a nuisance than anything. I don't want to seem like I have a hard heart, but in my experience, most homeless folks are a bunch of jerks.

Man, that looks tasty! I love to cook. For my B-day last may, my girlfriend bought me a nice grill with a rotisserie built in. A couple of days ago, I rotisseried a leg o' lamb with pockets cut into it that held bits of feta cheese, rosemary, and roasted garlic. I fire roasted some ears of corn with a pesto/cilantro butter that I whipped up also made a nice green greek salad to go with it and some rice pilaf. I like to make soups and stews too like chile verde and various curries.

One time I stopped on the way to visit my girlfriend @ college to pick some up. I grabbed a 12 pack of Trojan Magnums and went to the counter where stood a young teenage girl. She fumbled with the box, dropped them on the floor, picked them up, dropped them again, turned eight shades of red, and made her manager come ring them up for her. She was the one embarrassed methinks.

Or maybe y'all from North Washington could come down south to the Vancouver/Portland area. We can rent a boat on the Columbia and go fishing for sturgeon.
